The Venus of Willendorf, also known as the Woman of Willendorf, is a statuette 11.1 cm tall. It was carved from an oolitic limestone and tinted with red ochre. Discovered by archaeologist Josef Szombathy in 1908 at a Paleolithic site near the village of Willendorf in Lower Austria, it is estimated to have been carved between 24,000 and 22,000 bc. It is in the Naturhistorisches Museum, Vienna, Austria.
